Joseph Yobo Backs Moyes To Save Struggling Sunderland
Former Super Eagles skipper Joseph Yobo has backed his former coach at Everton, David Moyes, to turn around the fortunes of Sunderland despite their 3-0 loss at home to the Toffees at the Stadium of Light on Monday, Complete Sports Nigeria reports.
A second half hat-trick from Romelu Lukaku condemned Moyes’ side to their third defeat of the season on Monday and Yobo, who played under Moyes at Everton for a decade, is confident the Scot’s experience and mentality will bring back good fortunes at the club.
Yobo tweeted:
“I am confident Coach Moyes will turn things around for his team in the coming games.”“He has a strong personality and a winning mentality.”
Sunderland have just one point from their opening four games this season and are away to Tottenham Hotspur this Sunday in search of their first win of the campaign.
Yobo and Moyes have remained friends over the years and the Scot was invited as one of the coaches at Yobo’s testimonial in Port Harcourt this year.
