Champions League Round-Up: Goals Galore As Arsenal, Bayern And Barcelona All Grab Big Wins
With Wednesday providing yet another dose of exciting Champions League football, we bring you a quick round-up of all the results and scorers from all the games which took place.
Arsenal 6-0 Ludogorets Razgrad: Alexis Sánchez opened the scoring 12 minutes in, and the in-form Theo Walcott made it 2-0 three minutes from halftime. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Mesut Özil (hat-trick) added second half goals to seal the deal.
Barcelona 4-0 Man City: Lionel Messi’s hat-trick coupled with Claudio Bravo’s sending off made it an easy win for the La Liga champions. Neymar would add a fourth late on.
Celtic 0-2 Borussia Monchengladbach: The German side came to life in the second half as Lars Stindl and André Hahn both scored to hand their side the win.
Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 Basel: Goals from Angel Di MarÃa and Lucas Moura on either side of halftime did the trick for PSG. Edinson Cavani closed things off with a penalty in stoppage time.
Dynamo Kiev 0-2 Benfica: Eduardo Salvio scored a ninth-minute penalty to put Benfica ahead, and Franco Cervi doubled the lead in the 55th minute with a left-footed shot from the centre of the box.
Napoli 2-3 Besiktas: Adriano’s 12th-minute goal was cancelled out by Dries Mertens in the 30th minute, but the Turkish side took the lead eight minutes later through Vincent Aboubakar. Lorenzo Insigne had a penalty saved early in the second half, however, Manolo Gabbiadini would score from the spot to give tie the scores for Napoli. The Italian side would not hold on, though, as Aboubakar scored a header in the 86th minute to give Besiktas the win.
Bayern Munich 4-1 PSV Eindhoven: Thomas Müller, Joshua Kimmich, Robert Lewandowski and Arjen Robben all got on the score-sheet to render Luciano Narsingh’s 41st-minute goal meaningless and hand Bayern an easy win.
FC Rostov 0-1 Atletico Madrid: Yannick Carrasco’s goal off Fernando Torres’ assist helped Atletico grind out a 1-0 win away from home.
