Kelechi Iheanacho Saves Struggling Manchester City From Southampton Defeat

Kelechi Iheanacho grabbed his third Premier League goal of the season as Manchester City held Southampton to a 1-1 draw at the Etihad on Sunday, Complete Sports Nigeria reports.

It was also Iheanacho’s 11th EPL goal from just 17 shots on target since his breakthrough last season.

The Citizens bossed possession early on but failed to threaten the visitors’ goal area.

They were made to pay for their lack of cutting edge when Southampton took the lead through Nathan Redmond in the 28th minute.

Redmond capitalised on a short back pass from John Stones, rounding the City goalkeeper before slotting the ball into the net.

The Saints held on to the lead until the 55th minute when subtitute Iheanacho equalised for the hosts.

The yougster who replaced Belgian winger Kevin De Bruyne slotted the ball home following a pass from Leroy Sane.

Both sides threatened afterwards but were unable to find the winner.

City are now without a win in their last five games.
