Chelsea midfielder Mikel Obi has revealed that he remains focused on regaining his place in the Chelsea squad despite being frozen out of the Blues by Antonio Conte, reports Complete Sports Nigeria.

The arrival of French midfielder N'Golo Kante has seen the Nigerian skipper drop further down in the pecking order but the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations hero says he will fight for his place.

Mikel last featured for Chelsea in their 8-0 win over Atus Ferlach in a pre-season game in Austria. He was on target for Chelsea  in that encounter.

"Fighting every day for my place, like all the guys are. Focus, work hard," he wrote via his Twitter handle on Monday.

Mikel also praised his club mates for their convincing display in the 4-0 win over Manchester United at the Stamford Bridge.

Pedro scored the quickest goal of the Premier League season inside 30 seconds to give Chelsea the lead before Gary Cahill doubled the home side's advantage with a close-range finish.

Eden Hazard made it 3-0 before N’Golo Kante scored a brilliant fourth, his first for the club. The win saw Chelsea move up to fourth place on the Premier Leagur log.

"Well done to the boys yesterday, amazing performance, result and atmosphere." Mikel tweeted.
