La Liga side Sevilla have made enquiries over a potential transfer move for Arsenal target Oguzhan Ozyakupaccording to Turkish Football.
Besiktas midfielder Ozyakup, 24, had a spell at Arsenal as a youngster, playing two League Cup games for the North London side before moving to Turkish side Besiktas in search of regular first-team football.
The Super Lig side are reportedly keen to keep Ozyakup in Turkey for the 2016/17 season but would be willing to listen to offers in the summer. Sevilla have been monitoring Ozyakup and have reportedly made enquiries regarding a potential transfer.
Arsenal are yet to make a formal offer for their former youth product, but have been monitoring his progress. The Turkey international has been attracting interest since his impressive 2015-16 season where he scored nine goals in 31 league appearances.
Speaking to UEFA, Ozyakup spoke about his time at Arsenal, admitting he has a lot to be thankful for during his time in England.
“I was brought up in the youth team [at Arsenal] and in my final year I almost always trained with the first team,” Ozyakup revealed.
Arsenal have a very strong academy, and watching and taking part in first-team training would be beneficial for any player.
“They have world stars there, and seeing them train every day and seeing the extra things they do gives you an insight into what you should be doing. As for Arsène Wenger, who has been at the club for 20 years, to be able to come to training with the same motivation every day says a lot about him.”
