Arsenal have received a huge boost ahead of their penultimate Group A Champions League clash with Paris Saint-German as their star man Angel Di Maria is set to miss out through injury, 90min reports.
The Argentinian has been in fine form for the reigning French champions so far this season, producing five assists and one goal in the club’s opening 11 matches in Ligue 1, as well as another strike in their European endeavours.
However, according to the Metro, the former Manchester United winger pulled up with a suspected hamstring injury during their domestic fixture at the Parc des Princes against Nantes in the first half, moments after putting his side in front.
He was immediately replaced by Hatem Ben Arfa, suggesting that the 28-year-old is a serious doubt for his side’s visit to the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday evening, and will undergo tests in the coming days to find out the true extent of the injury.
PSG midfielder Javier Pastore also pulled up during their 2-0 win this weekend, and joins the list of Midfielder Adrien Rabiot and first-choice left-back Layvin Kurzawa who are said to be doubtful for the trip to north London also.
The European clash is an important one, with the winner almost certainly taking top spot in the group stage, possibly giving themselves an easier route into the quarter finals – somewhere Arsenal haven’t reached since 2010.
