Jose Mourinho Has Two Allies In The Dressing Room At Manchester United
It’s fair to say Jose Mourinho’s relationship with his Manchester United players is a complex one.
For all United’s ongoing problems on the pitch, the Portuguese is also reportedly concerned about his dressing room, GiveMeSport reports.
This, of course, is coming from the man who publicly shamed Chris Smalling and Luke Shaw for not playing with injuries and illness against Swansea – probably not the best way to motivate your players, but each to their own.
Yet, it seems for every story of Red Devils stars being unhappy with the 53-year-old’s, there’s another which suggests he’s pretty popular in some quarters.
The Sun have it that two of his summer signings, namely Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, are serving as his biggest allies – keeping him up-to-date with everything that goes on at the club.
It certainly explains why the duo have been playing even when they haven’t been at their best, Ibra recently scoring just once in eleven games, and Pogba initially struggling to live up to his £89million price tag.
Mourinho certainly needs a friend or two at Old Trafford.
It’s even been suggested he had a mole in the dressing room who was leaking his teamsheets and tactics, so no wonder he’s resorted to using two of his biggest stars as his pawns.
The Special One is clearly concerned with what he has seen since inheriting a fractured side from Louis van Gaal, and things haven’t exactly improved with United eight points off the top of the table going into the international break.
