Has anyone else been left feeling slightly uncomfortable about all the chat about sex bans emanating out of Manchester City this week?
Samir Nasri, who departed the Etihad to join Sevilla on a season-long loan in the summer, claimed that City boss Pep Guardiola had insisted on his players only engaging in bedroom antics before midnight to ensure his stars got all the rest and sleep they needed to prevent injuries.
Just as we all thought it was safe to go back in the water – no innuendo-esque pun here – Guardiola was quizzed on the France international’s comments in his pre-match press conference on Friday, according to 90min. The reply? Well, take a look:
Hilarious. Guardiola asked if he would share City players' sex ban "in the spirit of camaraderie". His answer: "The more sex the better!" pic.twitter.com/JalFxhT3q5— Sam Lee (@Sammy_Goal) November 18, 2016
Yes, that is a football journalist asking Guardiola about his sex life during the Spaniard’s own time as a footballer. And, yes, that is the ex-Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss admitting that having more sex makes players perform better on the pitch.
So the next time a Manchester City star scores a hat-trick, we’ll all know the reason why they played so well!
