Arsenal attacking midfielder Mesut Ozil will miss the Gunners’ trip to Bournemouth after failing to recover from illness, 90min reports.
The 28-year-old missed Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Crystal Palace on New Year’s Day, and the Mirror report Ozil will not feature in Tuesday’s encounter with Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth. The German’s absence could present Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain with a starting opportunity, while Aaron Ramsey is also in line for a recall.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is preparing for a second game in three days for the north London side, with Shkodran Mustafi also hoping to return to the starting lineup after featuring from the bench against Crystal Palace. Francis Coquelin is also hoping to be given an opportunity from the outset.
