Cesc Fabregas Entered Liverpool Dressing Room After Red Card
For a brief moment, Cesc Fabregas forgot that Chelsea’s game against Liverpool in the US was just a friendly.
The Spaniard produced a reckless tackle on Liverpool’s Ragnar Klavan in the 70th minute and was rightly shown a red card.
The game was rather fiery – six yellow cards were shown in total, five to Liverpool players – but Fabregas’ challenge was the worst of the lot.
It was uncharacteristic of the midfielder and Jurgen Klopp admitted afterwards that he had been into the Liverpool dressing room to apologise for the tackle.
Klavan became a Liverpool player just last week but if he wanted a taste for English football, he certainly got it against Chelsea.
“It’s a red card and I hope it’s not a mentality issue,” Klopp said, per the Liverpool Echo.
“He (Fabregas) came in the dressing room and said sorry, he came too late in the challenge.“Sometimes in life if you are too late then you get a red card. That’s how it was.”
