Iwobi Eager To Become Better Arsenal Player
Arsenal’s Nigerian forward, Alex Iwobi is hoping to surpass his first season achievements with the Gunners in the coming English Premier League season, Complete Sports Nigeria reports.
The Nigerian international scored two goals and provided two assists in 13 games for his side last season. The Arsenal star who was a member of the Gunners that finished as runners-up in the league last term says he is improving vastly in training.
“My goal was just to try to get as many balls and assists as I can, so I’ve just been working on that at training, as well as trying to get fit for the season,” Iwobi told missoccer.com.
“My decision-making has been improving a bit, my decision-making on the ball.”
Iwobi who was stopped from representing Nigeria at the Rio 2016 Olympics, also revealed in the interview that he passionately follows the Dream Team, which will take on Japan, Colombia and Sweden in Group B at the Games.
He was also impressed with the performance of his compatriot, Fanendo Adi, who features for Portland Timbers.
“We’ve only been on one trip together, but from that experience we got close and started talking a bit. The last game I was watching, he was doing really well. He impressed me,” Iwobi said.
The 20 year old has made six international appearances for the Super Eagles.
