Spurs have finally landed their first-choice striker target, who was the Eredivisie top scorer last season with AZ, on a four-year deal for a reported fee of £18.8 million.
Tottenham have signed Netherlands international Vincent Janssen on a four-year deal, the club have confirmed.
Spurs have long been linked with a move for the 22-year-old striker, who was top scorer in the Eredivisie last season, and have now completed the deal after reaching an agreement with AZ Alkmaar.
Reports suggest that Spurs have paid £18.8 million for Janssen, and the striker will provide support toHarry Kane as Mauricio Pochettino’s side again attempt to mount a title challenge in 2016-17.

“I’m incredible happy that I can make this step to Tottenham Hotspur,” Janssen told AZ’s official website.“I’m glad the clubs finally agreed [a deal]. I’ve shaked everyone’s hands and I leave via the front door. I think it’s a great deal for all three parties. I’m leaving for a great football nation, and will play in the Champions League.”“I had the best football year of my life with AZ. The people I’ve worked with were fantastisc. My step to AZ was a fine step, I can only look back to my time in Alkmaar with a positive feeling.”
Janssen becomes Spurs’ second signing of the summer, following the arrival of midfielder Victor Wanyama from Southampton.
