Antonio Conte 'Very Happy' With Eden Hazard's Return To Top Form For Chelsea
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has expressed his delight with Eden Hazard’s performances in the Premier League so far and hailed the Belgian’s man of the match display against Burnley on Saturday, the Daily Express reports.
The Belgium international’s performances to date are in stark contrast compared to his disappointing displays last season. His dramatic dip in form reflected Chelsea’s season as a whole, with the Blues finishing in 9th place despite winning the Premier League in the previous season.
But after starring in Euro 2016 with Belgium, and scoring two goals in four matches for Chelsea this season, Conte has praised Hazard on the improvement he has shown this season.
The former Italy boss said:
“Eden is a fantastic player. He has great talent and also I know he’s a good guy. What’s important is that he wants to improve and wants to work very hard to improve himself, and I am pleased about this.”“I want to work with my players to improve them and put them in the best condition to show their talent.”“There are others but above all, I’m talking about the wingers. We have fantastic wingers who are all very good one versus one. It’s important to put them in the best condition and I’m very happy for Eden.”
Conte also touched upon Chelsea and Hazard’s struggles last season and was wary of totally disregarding the season and instead insisted it could be used as motivation during potential difficult periods this season.
“It’s an important time for him,” added Conte.
“Last season is the past but it’s important to remember, always, and to keep last season in our minds because when there is difficult situation it’s important to look back and find new strength to go forward.”
