Moses’s Fine Form Continues As Chelsea Pip Milan
Nigeria’s Victor Moses gave another good account of himself while in action for Chelsea who recorded a 3-1 win over AC Milan at the US Bank Stadium in Thurday’s pre-season friendly in Minneapolis, Complete Sports Nigeria reports.
Moses played for 52 minutes in his fourth pre-season game and was replaced by Eden Hazard as goals from Betrand Traore in the 24th and a brace from Oscar in the 70th and 87th minutes handed Chelsea their third win in five games ahead of the new season.
The Nigeria international who has been one of the Blues standout performers in pre-season so far fired a thunderous shot which Milan’s goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma parried to the path of Traore who calmly heads home for the opener.
The Italians responded 14 minutes later when Giacomo Bonaventura curled in a brilliant free-kick which was clipped over the wall giving Thibaut Courtois no chance.
With scores even at half time, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte handed French midfielder, N’Golo Kante his first appearance for the Blues withdrawing goalscorer Traore and the team switched formation to 4-1-4-1 from their initial 4-4-2.
In the 70th minute, Oscar gave Chelsea the lead again when slotted in a penalty after Azpilicueta’s cross was handled in the box.
The Brazilian however sealed the win for the Blues with a neat finish after a good work from Juan Cuadrado to hand Chelsea their second win at the International Champions Cup in front of a capacity crowd of 64,101.
Chelsea face German Bundesliga side Werder Bremen in their final game in pre-season before tackling West Ham United in the English Premier League opener next weekend.
