Musa: I’m Happy To Score Twice Against Barcelona
Leicester City forward Ahmed Musa is delighted to have bagged his first ever brace for the Foxes despite their 4-2 loss to Barcelona in their Wednesday’s International Champions Cup final in Stockholm, Complete Sports Nigeria reports.
The Nigeria international who announced his arrival within two minutes of his introduction in the game when he skipped past three Barcelona defenders from halfway to score, rued his side’s missed chances.
“We lost the game, but we played well. As you saw in the second half, we came in stronger and could have levelled scores, but we missed some chances,” Musa told Leicester City website after the game.
“We had a good game and I’m happy to score twice tonight but In think we could have done more.”
The former CSKA Moscow winger struck his second goal in the 66 minute when Jeffrey Schlupp won possession high up the pitch before playing the 23-year-old clear on goal. Musa drilled his shot high into the Barcelona net.
Meanwhile, coach Claudio Ranieri was pleased with Musa’s contribution in the encounter.
He told the club’s website after the game:
“I’m very pleased with Musa. It’s important to have another fast player and he showed a lot of quality.”
