Why Yobo Joined Kano Pillars
A top official of Nigeria Professional Football League club Kano Pillars has revealed to why the former Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo, chose to join the club, Complete Sports Nigeria reports.
The official, Idris Malikawa, who is the media officer of the Pyramid City side said that Yobo’s decision in linking up with the four-time NPFL champions was motivated by the fact that he was born in Kano.
“We are delighted that Joseph Yobo, one of the biggest stars to have ever played for Nigeria, has decided to play for us,” Malikawa saidon Thursday.
“For those who don’t know, Yobo was born here in Kano and he knows the place very well.”“So, the place is like home to him and he feels like he is coming back home to play for his team.”
Malikwa is however unsure when the 2013 Africa Cup Nations winner will make his debut for the club.
“For now, I cannot say categorically when he will play his first game for us as we are yet complete all the necessary paperwork,” he stated.
The Sai Masu Gida beat three other clubs Akwa United, Wikki Tourists and FC IfeanyiUbah to secure the services of the former Everton player.
