Liverpool have certainly started their season off with a bang and are quickly adapting to Jurgen Klopp’s high-pressing tactics. Of course, some work was done last season, but the players are clearly only now fully getting into the swing of things in what is Klopp’s first full term in charge, 90min reports.
The Reds have been scoring for fun under their German manager and therefore, it should come as no surprise that one or two of Liverpool’s attack-minded players should feature in anyone’s Premier League team of the season thus far – however, not many people would expect to see James Milner in a Sky Sports’ pundits’ team.
Yes, that’s right: Sky duo Tony Cascarino and Tony Cottee have included the former England midfielder in their team of the season so far, and at left-back no less.
Milner has indeed impressed since being thrust into the position by Klopp as a result of Alberto Moreno’s utter incompetence, and has received lots of plaudits for his recent performances.
He bagged a brace in Liverpool’s last outing, a 5-1 rout of Hull City on Saturday, and is now tied on goals with Adam LallanaRoberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.
Mane features in the pundits’ team also, and has been a real revelation since joining the Reds from Southampton over the summer, bringing pace, excitement and dynamism to the side.
