Pundit Alan Shearer Incurs Wrath Of Furious Chelsea Fans After Comparing Dele Alli To Blues Legend

There is no doubting Dele Alli is something of a promising footballer.
Last season he bagged 10 Premier League goals in his debut top flight season, and after a slow start this campaign, he’s now up to three strikes after his equaliser against West Brom on Saturday.
Having dug Spurs out of a hole with his last gasp equaliser, Alli came in for praise from Match of the Day pundit Alan Shearer on Saturday, who claimed the former MK Dons midfielder could be mentioned “in the same breath as Frank Lampard“, should he improve his finishing, according to reports from 90min.
Lampard reached double figures in all but three of his seasons with Chelsea, scoring 22 Premier League goals during the 2009-10 season and 16 in the 2005-06 campaign and helping Chelsea win numerous trophies throughout his career.
Of course, Shearer’s praise of Lampard has not gone down well with Chelsea supporters…
Shearer has defended his comparison, stating his comments have been taken out of context and misinterpreted by social media users.
Whereas Lampard won three Premier League, four FA Cups, a Champions League and a Europa League title, Dele Alli is still in the early stages of his career and won’t turn 21 until April next year. While Chelsea fans may not be too enthusiastic about the comparison, there’s no doubting Alli will be vital to any success Spurs or England can hope to accomplish in the future.
