Zlatan Ibrahimovic Worsens Shot Conversion Rate During Manchester United's Draw With Stoke City

Before Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with Stoke City on Sunday afternoon, Zlatan Ibrahimovic had hit more shots than any other player in the Premier League, 90min reports.
During the match at Old Trafford, he registered no fewer than a further six – but couldn’t manage to find the back of the net. His batch of efforts against the plucky Potters took his tally for the season up to 38, but has only scored four times.
In a way, it’s relieving for United fans to watch shots rain down on the opponent’s goal, especially after a lack of willing efforts during the Louis van Gaal era. However, Ibrahimovic needing 9.5 shots to score a goal is not reflective of the Swede’s obvious talents.
A shooting accuracy of 37% simply does not compute when you think of a striker of such refinement. While United’s problems don’t just lie with Zlatan, his wayward shooting may leave Jose Mourinho with a selection headache, should it persist.
Of course, it should be pointed out that Ibrahimovic has also bagged himself six goals in all competitions.
Ibrahimovic also revealed why he rejected a mega-money offer from China to play out the final chapters of his career at Old Trafford.
“The last few days, there’s been talk about how you turned down enormous amounts of money from Chinese clubs just to go to Manchester United.
“Are the rumours correct – and why choose Manchester United in particular?
“Zlatan: Easy. Who wouldn’t choose Manchester United when they knock on the door?”
