Manchester United Director Ed Glazer Backed Donald Trump For President With $55,000 Campaign Donation

Manchester United director Ed Glazer was among those who backed Donald Trump’s successful US presidential campaign, various reports have revealed.

Glazer, who is a son of the late patriarch Malcolm and has little to do with business at Old Trafford, sits on United’s non-executive board of directors with two of his brothers and his sister.

One of many sporting figures that donated handsomely to the Trump campaign, Glazer gave a sum of $55,400 to the Trump campaign to help the highly-controversial billionaire get elected, although he also actually donated $5,400 to the Hillary Clinton campaign as well.

Liverpool chairman Tom Werner, who also doubles as chairman of the Boston Red Sox, was among those who backed Clinton, donating $2,700 to her presidential campaign.

While United is largely run by co-chairmen and brothers Avram and Joel, with day to day control in the hands of executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, Ed Glazer’s primary involvement in the family’s sporting empire is with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Along with Bryan, a fellow non-executive director at United (and the aforementioned Joel), Ed serves as a co-chairman of the Florida-based NFL franchise that his father took control of in the mid-1990s. The three sons have been in charge of the team’s financial affairs ever since.
