Current Turkish champions Besiktas are reportedly in talks with Chelsea over signing Nigerian international defender Kenneth Omeruo.
However, his involvement with the Nigeria U-23 team at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games could hamper the move.
According to Turkish daily Milliyet, the report claims that Besiktas are prepared to match Omeruo’s wages which are around €1.1 million per season.
It was further revealed that the 22-year-old defender who is yet to play for Chelsea having spent a season at Middlesbrough and in the Netherlands prior to moving to Turkey is eager to see the move succeed.
Omeruo was one of the standout defenders in the Super Lig last season for Kasimpasa where he played 27 games as they finished seventh on the log.
A move to Besiktas will offer Omeruo the chance to play in the UEFA Champions League in the coming season.
