Manchester United Store Has Proven Signing Of Huge Star - Not Ibrahimovic
What a day for Manchester United.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic announced that he will be joining the club next season - despite the club making no official statement.
But, if that wasn’t enough, the club appear to have announced another signing. And no, this wasn’t done officially either.
That’s because the club’s official shop have started selling Henrikh Mkhitaryan shirts on their official website.
The club's website appear to have since taken down the shirts.
Obviously, this all but confirms that the Borussia Dortmund forward will be signing for United imminently.
While it may not come as too much of a surprise that he will be arriving at Old Trafford, this wasn’t the way supporters usually discover they have signed someone.
Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has already confirmed that United had "significantly improved their offer", with reports indicating that the Premier League club have made a bid in the region of £35.2 million.
And today, German newspaper Bild reported that the player sent a text message to manager Thomas Tuchel saying:
“I go to Manchester United.”
So with these reports, coupled with the club’s shop selling Mkhitaryan shirts, it seems pretty obvious that a deal is set to be, officially, announced.
The Armenian arrived in Germany from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2013 for a club record €27.5 million and he’s paid back that fee back with some brilliant performances.
Last season he managed 23 goals and 32 assists from the Bundesliga runners-up and will join Mats Hummels and Ilkay Gundogan in leaving the Westfalenstadion this summer.
Ibrahimovic and Mkhitaryan in one day for United. Not bad.
