A Special Moment During Madrid Derby Proves Cristiano Ronaldo Isn't As Selfish As The Football World Thinks

Cristiano Ronaldo went a long way to silencing those who claimed his powers have deserted him with a decisive hat-trick in the Madrid derby on Saturday night – but he might not have gotten the treble if it wasn’t for teammate Gareth Bale.
Bale set the Portuguese star up for his third goal with a lung-busting run and cross for Cristy to tap home, but it’s emerged that Ronaldo actually offered up the taking of the second goal, a penalty, to the Welsh wizard – putting talk of CR7’s selfish ways firmly to bed.
Ronaldo – who has made a habit of dispatching spot kicks down the years – asked Bale if he’d have liked to take the kick to put Real two ahead as Bale helped him up from being fouled by Stefan Savic.
A replay of the incident shows Ronaldo looking directly at Bale and nodding in the direction of the penalty spot. He went on to say “Chutas?”, which means “Shoot?” in Spanish.
Additionally, one Reddit user interpreted the Portugal international’s words as “Tu o yo?”, which translates to “You or me?” from Spanish.
Bale turned the chance down and let Ronaldo step up and fire past Jan Oblak, before later sprtinting down the left side and crossing for his teammate to complete the treble – keeping Real on top of the Spanish league table in the process.
Selfless guy that Cristiano.
