Italian giants AC Milan hope to sign Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere once his loan at Bournemouth is over at the end of the season, according to the Daily Star.
The 24-year-old midfielder was sent to Bournemouth on loan in the summer after falling down the pecking order at the Emirates due to numerous injury set-backs.
And Milan look prepared to snap up Wilshere next summer, when he will have just one year remaining on his contract at Arsenal, 90min reports.
His return to first-team football at Bournemouth earned him an England call-up last week, but he failed to make an appearance under Gareth Southgate against Scotland and Spain.
International team-mate Joe Hart has flourished after moving on loan to Torino in August, and Wilshere could well follow suit as the Daily Star claim that he is ‘keen’ on a move to Italy.
Wilshere will be available for a cut-price fee this summer due to his contract expiring soon after, which could lead to a whole host of clubs rivalling AC Milan for his signature.
“Of course I love Arsenal, but if there comes a time when I have to leave, then I have to leave,” Wilshere told The Sun.
“It is difficult for me to say because of course I love Arsenal – I’ve had great times there and they have been great for me.“And I can still see myself playing there as well but who knows what the future holds.“I have got a year left when I go back there“At the moment I’m just trying to have a season that puts me in a good position at the end of the year.“I have improved as a player and Arsenal want me back and then we will see where we go from there.”
